I use a pluralistic framework. This means I use a combination of therapeutic approaches, such as brief, solution-focused therapies including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), and Self-Relations therapy.
I'm also a fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist, and have been working therapeutically with people for twenty years, particularly for anxiety, depression, and phobias.
Self-development is always central to the therapy process. Going through this process changes people's feelings about themselves, their relationships and their situations, and they become happier, more self-confident, and more effective in dealing with life's stresses.
I offer an initial, lower fee consultation, where we can meet confidentially and comfortably, find out about each other, and discuss your needs for the future. This appointment takes about an hour.
Sessions usually take place weekly or fortnightly, for 50 minutes, and are usually for individuals. I can also see couples by arrangement. Depending on the nature of the problem, these sessions can often be short-term (2-3 sessions) or medium-term (6-10 sessions). Sometimes longer-term therapy is suggested, but only after a review of your ongoing needs.
